I once struggled through reading Hannah Arendt’s “The Origins of Totalitarianism”, trying to understand how the European Jews allowed themselves to get caught up in the Holocaust. It helped in understanding some of it, but it still escapes me.

Its very competitive to get your kids into these schools. But when the rich leave NYC they take their kids with them.

They can move an hour away to CT. The Wilton, Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan public school districts are excellent.
My daughter was 3 when we went to visit relatives on Long Island. We took the LIRR from LaGuardia. It was mid afternoon before rush hour. My daughter very loudly said, “Mommy, why does everybody look so angry?” There were some chuckles and then an uncomfortable silence from the other passengers. But she was right. I grew up there, but glad to have left.
They probably have family in Florida and there is no State Income Tax in Florida.
If he had to move, he surely researched all angles.

My office overlooked the statue of Liberty and Governors Island. The Goodyear Blimp flew below eye level. When the Space Shuttle flew by, it was at eye level, as were the Blue Angles. Fireworks exploded below eye level.
