"I feel like I just destroyed that "study"."

Is that you Fauci? I'll bet you feel like Wonder Woman too. Stop spreading your superiority BS and realize that you have been completely played by the globalists, and are now nothing more than a useful idiot.

I would want to see evidence to support your claim. What I do see though is Brazil, a country that allowed the Anti-Mask, anti-Vaccine, Covid Denial Team (that's AMAVCDT for short) to dictate policy and is now looking like it is singlehandedly responsible for the creation of the P.1 variant that will soon be the dominant strain globally and which is twice as contagious as the original strain and more lethal to young people, and able to reinfect people that have already had Covid.

This has been well known for a long time with other studies as well but science is the last thing the government gives a damn about.

Another study, yet to be completed is the affect government mandates have one mindless idiots that do whatever they are told.

That study will find 75% of the population are very much like lemmings and/or sheep.

I’m guessing Mr, Rucker, like the people he quotes, didn’t actually read the article. It reported no data or original analysis, and merely reported the work of others, almost none of which involved the effect of widespread mask-wearing on COVID infection and death rates,

I read it, and noticed the complete lack of originality in it. Here is the first two paragraph of the publisher’s description of the guide for authors written by the journal itself:

“The purpose of Medical Hypotheses is to publish interesting theoretical papers. The journal will consider radical, speculative and non-mainstream scientific ideas provided they are coherently expressed.”

A lot of people are already certain of everything, are simply looking for support for their point of view, and stop once they’ve found some.

If you click on his name, rather than author information, pub med will take you to a list of all his other published studies.

From them, I surmise he is a respiratory specialist or therapist.

Too late for a long response.

Masks and the particle scientists have been the subject of controversy for a long time. Many states rebelled against CDC guidance based on lab studies during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.

The issue is: how many other factors besides penetration of a particle are involved in establishing an infection, and how to universal masks modulate those factors?

If one particle at any velocity arriving at the entrance to the nose caused an infection 100% of the time, then, masks would indeed be useless. This is, however, not the case.

Ordinary surgical or procedure masks are very effective for preventing influenza infections among bedside nurses caring for influenza patients, for example.

COVID has caused a lot of money to be sloshing around, and the particle scientists have not been left out. But their experimental conditions describe a worst case scenario which is not duplicated in the real world.

Agree with your “bottom line” assessment..and we are approaching “herd immunity in a couple months, so pompous Fauci’s “15-minutes” are long expired and he needs to disappear. On the other hand statements like “masks are absolutely useless against COVID” are just as stupid as some of Fauci’s. Use common sense and protect yourself against a “USA Top 2 All-Time” influenza pandemic...esp. if elderly and/or obese with underlying health issues.

I like the saying, “wearing a face mask to prevent Covid-19 is like using a chain link fence to keep mosquitos from flying onto your porch!” Ineffective and dehumanizing, but, it makes the folks/sheep “feel good and cooperative to humanity.”
What could be better?

I’ve got some questions. I’ll start with the easy one.

do you wear a mask in order to protect yourself or others? Not a trick question, just want to know.

In the beginning of the pandemic, I wore a mask to protect others because they were still unsure about asymptomatic spread and whether fomites were a source of spread. Source control and cloth masks do reduce droplet spread.

I was never dumb enough to think my cloth masks would protect me. Handwashing is far more protective.

Then I had covid in December. I quit masks after being fully recovered, even though I live in super locked down Oregon. Nobody has gotten on my case since mid-March. The few times I got questioned before that, I just said I was a fully recovered Covidee and myob.

My bestie and I went on a real clothes shopping spree about two weeks ago and while the employees offered us masks, they just said “Enjoy shopping” when we politely declined. We went to about 5 retail stores and nobody kicked us out.

At Hobby Lobby and Dollar Tree, they open a new register and pull me out of the line... every time. If they are going to treat me special, I’m going to keep acting special. LOL!

I plan to get vaccinated if and when they establish that natural immunity wears off, because I’m not doing that again.
