Given more time, more people who were vaccinated will likely eventually contract a case of COVID - but clearly the rate is very, very low. An impressive level of protection.
Since those already vaccinated were mostly the oldest and sickest members of society, the statistical results will likely improve significantly, as the younger and healthier become included in the total vaccinated.
How is it impressive without knowing how many of them came into contact with COVID since their shots?

Agreed with one caveat. I do not see the justification to vaccinate young people or kids. The data has never supported that and we have enough time to study the vaccines more before we should embark upon that.

Can’t say how many as of the cutoff for the stats that they are reporting in this article (7% and 74), but it is roughly somewhere over 150 million.

What would be more helpful is to see just how many sickly e
elderly folks survive the virus after betting the shots, to determine if the shots are even having any intended effect, keeping them alive through the virus, or not. Is the vaccine cutting down on deaths by the sickly elderly with preco diction or not? That info is what is needed

And you don’t think they will change the way they count things now? So if someone with comorbidities dies with the virus in their system, they will attribute the death to the comorbidity instead of COVID (reverse of what they’re doing now).
Do you have a link to those figures? That sounds quite high. The vaccine ma,ers claim their vaccines are like 90% effective or better, but less so for elderly apparently. Would like some stats on what the % effectiveness is for elderly 75 and older.

The very large sample size (over 66 million) greatly reduces the risk that their exposure to COVID is substantially different than the general public.
To the degree that there is significant difference in the stats, it is because the oldest and sickest - who had by far the highest percentages of hospitalizations and deaths, were the disproportionally vaccinated so far.
That makes these very low rates of hospitalization and death even more impressive. We have been through periods where thousands of people among those populations were dying of COVID, per day.
DOH! Sorry, I thought your post said 74% of the 7% died. My brain isn’t working cuz of a whopper of a cold. But still, if you have a link to that info I’d be interested in seeing it? It is claimed that the elderly, because of how their immune system gets less effective as they age, don’t do as well with the vaccine protection. Don’t know if that is true or not.
My doctor tried to argue with me that the vaccine was better than my natural immunity from having had covid. Just not buying what the medical community is shoveling this time. They destroyed their reputations to get Trump out of office. I no more believe the CDC/AMA than I do the Media/CIA/FBI/DOJ thugs.
Here’s the problem. There is no guarantee that vaccinated people will be less likely to get Covid months down the line. And further there is no evidence that after their vaccines wear off that they won’t be more likely to get the disease later or that the vaccine might just screw up their immune system making them more vulnerable to future variants or other viral diseases.
These are not vaccines. They are miniature software programs designed to fool your hardware system.

There are very good objective arguments for your position. Israel is not vaccinating minors (except for co-morbidities).
I anticipate that the authorities at NIAID (such as Fauci), many of whom have large financial interests in Moderna, are going to focus on other arguments, to recommend that all school kids get vaccinated, before the next school year.

See my tagline for my wife and my vaccination dates. We are slowly edging back into life with a trip to the Ocean for a couple of nights and a lot of bridge playing with a vaccinated couple, last week.
My wife had lunch with her women’s church group yesterday without masks. Some of the women have been in that group for 40+ years. All have been vaccinated. They have scheduled their next luncheon and have reservations. My wife will schedule an outdoor Bible study meeting in our backyard without masks sometime next month.
This Sunday, we will be having a late Easter and Birthday celebration with one of our adult sons and his family. Everyone has been vaccinated.
Another adult son and his family are not getting vaccinated. They are healthy and in great shape physically and mentally.
We will be having a late May, Easter, Birthday and college graduation party with them. No one will be wearing masks.
Our church will have an open air service and picnic two Sundays from now. Then, our services will be inside or online.
