What was a 13-year old boy doing out roaming the streets of Chicago at 2:30AM?

Good grief, didn’t mean to offend you by quoting the article. I don’t know if he had an air pistol, but as far as I recall nothing in the Tribune article mentioned one. If he was pointing an air pistol at the cop when he was shot, how did it match the shell cases found at the scene of the initial shooting? You tell me, since you brought up the subject - did he have one or not?
A pay out immediately of 22Millon dollars might help.(/S)

You mention shell casings found at the scene. Were they NOT shell casings from the cops gun? If they were not then it is obvious the boy did not have an air pistol but a real gun.
In any case whether the boy had an air pistol or conventional gun his shooting was justified if he pointed the weapon at the cop.

I think the article was referring to casings found at the scene of the original shooting and that they matched the gun found near the kid after he was shot - so I don’t believe they were casings from the cop’s gun.
