EV’s won’t be able to pull any kind of trailer more than a couple of miles whether it is a 5th wheel, horse trailer, or a tradesman’s trailer.

It will restrict anyone that pulls a trailer to a very small travel circle.

But the elites will still have gasoline powered engines to get them around.

All this is great new tech and I've been following the new battery tech - graphine etc.

Question though - how long for a recharge and what is the needed charging output - ie. AMP?

I can refill my F150 in 8 minutes and go 750 miles on the 36 gallon tank. Will I be able to do this with a battery?

And what size is the cable to my vehicle - 3x500MCM?

If there is a truck stop and 30 trucks are recharging what size is the service?

At public use allowable voltages - 208v to 240volt how long will this take?

These questions - to me as a Master Electrician - are concerning and need real answers. Not hyperbole but real answers.

I'm impressed with you knowledge base and am curious for more answers.

Best

Also other things to consider - National Fire Protection Agency writes the National Electric Code and the Arc Flash Protection Code.
In order to charge high mileage and high output batteries rapidly will require high voltages and amperage's. You cannot change the physics - E=MCsquared. Period. Also note Power (=746watts/HP) = Volts x Amps. To get to the needed charging power in short duration's will require high voltages + high amperage's. These create arc flash hazard zones that are outside of the allowable zones for the general public. That is why there are 10’ fences and barbed wire around substations - high voltages and high current (amps).

So although the current battery tech COULD allow for big EV’s it is very impracticable - almost impossible - to make this work with public safety concerns.

Great point with battery cycle times.
