IMO, at this point, it's no bruises on the neck (defense) vs. fentanyl only kills in a coma ( prosecution).

Despite hours of testimony with words most jurors wouldn't understand, I don't see how it comes down to anything else. There's lots of testimony left, but I think the jury will go for asphyxiation over death in a coma resulting from a fentanyl overdose.

Have no idea what charge they might choose...

“””do we really really know that he was totally dead when he left in the ambulance. did they put an oxygen mask on him...why not”””

We know Floyd was not breathing and had no pulse when he was loaded into the ambulance.

We know the paramedic and cop were giving him oxygen while he was in the ambulance.

We know the paramedic was doing other stuff to bring Floyd back to life while in the ambulance.

Any juror who votes to acquit might as well commit suicide on the court steps as they leave the trial. They (and their families) will never be allowed to work again and they (and possibly their families) will be hunted down and killed.

If I had been on the jury selection panel, I’d have said I would vote guilty regardless of the evidence in order to protect my family - that we could skip the trial and go directly to sentencing. I’m not a coward but I’m not falsely brave either. A vote to acquit means my family could be murdered 10 years from now in reprisal.

There is a reason it is hard to convict a crime boss. And BLM is IMHO a terrorist organization pretending to be about politics.

Absolutely right, but the legal system in the US is mortally wounded as it is and it would be much more efficient to just start with the verdict and execution...

“...A lesser charge will not stop the violence....”

I agree - BLM wants to be heard and will launch full scale riots in several locations regardless of what the jury finds.

Providing evidence to the defense at the last minute is a common tactic used by orosecutors.

I would be scared as hell as a juror in this case. Luckily I live in a Constitutional Carry State. I have night vision and friends that have my back. I would probably bring back a NG on all counts, but that is based on getting all the evidence.

The failsafe to try to avoid riots if there is a not guilty verdict is the Feds charging Chauvin criminally with violating the victim’s civil rights a la the Rodney King model to placate the rioting savages in the streets. Double jeopardy, be damned.

Chauvin in all likelihood is going to walk. So maybe time to open the gun locker. Just sayin.

I’m also wondering why, if the fiit is actually not on the ground, the ankle is twisted so far around. I know I can’t hold my foot out at that angle while my knee is bent if there’s no force against it.

One key concept about the mainstream media to always keep in mind is that “they are not interested in telling the truth, the whole/all truth, or even demonstratively counter-truths to what they “report” (whether incompetently, deliberatively, by ignorance, on orders from above - Bezos, NY Times clique, LA times leaders, politicians, academics, etc).

I was a street reporter (and some time in Nam/Cambodia) for decades. I was with other “reporters” who either didn’t see what I saw though we were standing together (as at a Pentagon protest), or made excuses for the violence from the Left).

One of my best received letters was from former Asst. Dir. of the FBI Ray Wannell (Counter-Intelligence/Operation Solo), in which he thanks me for “being the only journalist to accurately quote him.”
.
We had a good laugh about the event I wrote about and quoted him in it.

The same for a NY Times reporter in So. Vietnam, who was one of 5 of use MACV-accredited journalists who visited the same Delta town in the same week. Four of us wrote about positive changes that had happened there when the So. Vietnamese troops/govt admin. regained control of it. We interviewed the people who had lived there all their lives, under French, Communist, and So. Vietnamese control.

You just have to ask the right question if you really want the people to speak the truth to you with confidence that you will report it honestly.

The same goes for communist street demonstrations and riots in the DC area being characterized as just a bunch of “protestors” despite communist signs identifying themselves.

The concept that the mainstream media has any journalistic ethic to report the “truth” as best they can was long ago flushed down the cesspool of Leftism, with journalism schools providing the toilet paper, i.e. students.
