Got an email from our power provider confirming that.

People are people. You can’t have a large portion of customers paying cheap rates for federally subsidized wind power, and charge them and everyone else for building a system with 60 percent of total petroleum generation capacity which is planned to sit idle for 99.9% of the time.
Neither should these customers have the ability to suck off the petroleum teat filled by the rest of us. There is only one electric grid and one circuit running to each customer’s house. The choice has, of necessity, to be made by all of us ...reliability or virtue signaling.
