In this climate anyone seeking to protect themselves risks jail (see the two people “brandishing” weapons when Simbas invaded their gated community); it is much more likely that more real estate is just ceded to the invasive species. That is what is happening in NJ; areas just become unlivable. Not even necessarily “unsafe” - just unlivable, especially in light of the high costs here.
