Winston Churchill, who during WWII almost singlehandedly led the saving of Western Civ until FDR finally sent the Yankees, was voted out of office before Hitler’s ashes were cool. He was voted back in a few years later. One of the downsides of freedom is when people vote their petty personal grudges, such as Oh well he saved democracy but what about the bombs that fell in my garden.
