Firstly, the knighthoods you mention are irrelevant - knighthoods cannot be inherited, and anybody given a knighthood doesn’t thereby become an aristocrat. (Even the majority of the modern House of Lords aren’t aristocrats - they’re life peers, awarded a title which dies with them).

As for the European ancestry you mention - it’s stretching your case more than somewhat to argue that titles given by minor German statelets that far back confer aristocracy in England on distant descendants. Many of us ordinary folk can claim such things without the least pretension to aristocratic character.

One other thing - in your biographical summary you mentioned BJ’s attendance at the University of Oxford as symptomatic of the aristocracy. Studying at Oxford doesn’t make you nor does it require you to be an aristocrat. As it happens, I was an Oxford contemporary of his father Stanley, and my own background is unambiguously working class. It’s true that some Oxford colleges (eg Christ Church and Trinity) traditionally have those associations, but they’re largely historic.

If you’re using ‘aristocratic’ in a metaphorical rather than a literal sense, fair enough, although that wasn’t suggested in your original post, and even metaphorically it’s pushing it a bit - for any objective British observer looking at that family background, the immediate pigeonholing would be ‘comfortable middle class professional’. It’s most certainly Establishment, but not aristocratic.

Some of have to sleep - time zones. Response now above. I see you’re still sticking to ‘inbred’, despite the colourful cosmopolitan recent ancestry!

Incidentally, in case you thought otherwise, I have no time whatever for Boris Johnson, who is personally (let alone his politics) a despicable character.
