How has a person “with nearly 25 years in anesthesia and critical care” avoided the flu shots that have been made mandatory for years by healthcare employers?

My dentist wears jeans and a Polo shirt - and puts on the gloves after shaking hands “hello”.
I work in health care and have never been mandated to take a flue vaccine in 11 years.
You’re lucky. Even the paper pushers have to take the flu shot...people that have NO patient contact whatsoever.
Correction: Hospitals have mandated flu vaccines since the Affordable Care Act required hospitals to vaccinate their staff in order to recover full reimbursement for care. Trump rolled that back.
I apply for and have been granted an exemption the last several years. I do not take flu shots. And I do not get the flu.

I work with mainly elderly patients too, yet no mandate. I suspect it’s because the State I work in hasn’t forced it on my employer yet.
There isn’t anything crackpot about being hesitant to accept any coronavirus vacc, not just mRNA. Maybe in five or ten years of collecting data we’ll have a better idea of long-term safety. Until then, Antibody Dependent Enhancement (ADE) is a valid concern. We haven’t yet had sufficiently divergent mutated viruses to test this. Some of the dead lab animals from earlier vacc attempts know all about this.
I am an advanced practice nurse. My husband is a physician. We are not taking the COVID vax.
Lack of animal trials, limited human trials, emergency use authorization, new technology (mRNA), zero long term studies, zero studies in pregnant women, zero studies regarding breastfeeding....nope. No way.

You seem to be mixing up or conflating virus and vaccine.

I didnt say onky crackpots don’t take the vaccine and am the first one to say the vaccine is an individual decision. However there are many crackpot websites chock full of hysteria and false information by people who wouldn’t know mrna or understand the science behind the vaccine if they tripped over it. That does not stop them from loudly and hysterically proclaiming their wrong information. It’s a shame. people should make a decision based on rational data not hysteria They would have a better chance at reaching g the right decision for them whether it is to take the vaccine or not take it
yes. we all take the flu shot every year. In most states it is required to work in a hospital setting but I would take it anyway. What does that have to do with anything other than to prove we are not anti vaxxers?
Careful drawing conclusions. Many hospital workers are not medical personnel at all and do not directly treat covid infected patients
