Democracy breaks us up into special interest groups - Blacks, Hispanics, whatevers, each trying to vote itself power and money.
Unity comes through law and its equal application; in other words “A Republic if you can keep it.”
I don’t want to be “Held Together”.
We’re not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic.
However, the nation will not fall apart because the people are like dumb cows on the pasture.————————————————

We don’t like each other. And we’re rapidly approaching the point where we have nothing in common, culturally or politically. So that would be a ‘no’.

This is one of the reason I dislike Pat Buchanan.
He has two faces and they're both on show here with these two comments.
He is basically saying a Democracy and a Republic are the same thing when they aren't.
