Well, I care. We need all the FReepers we can get in these difficult times.
Besides, the 70s are the new 50s. ;-)

I’m getting my second fitness trainers certification at the age of 65. 71 isn’t old anymore. No age is unless you let it be, in many cases,

I think it was the first thing his oncologists tried. Abandoned due to inability to tolerate.

My first Wife was a casualty from Melanoma, they were just on the precipice of developing the first immunotherapy at NYU, but for her it was too late. I have a friend who seems to be tolerating the therapy well, she is receiving her treatment in Texas..

I am sure Rush has had all aspects of treatment courses. When my Wife was sick I spent days researching everything, and we had the best Dermatologist and Oncologist, I think, in the world. If you don’t take charge of the issue at the outset you are at the mercy of the Doctors. With us, that didn’t happen.

The two most interesting things about immunotherapy for cancer are:
1) That it works at all
2) That it doesn't work most of the time

I am convinced that the medical establishment, in an all-out effort to "treat disease" (a good and noble goal), essentially overlook preventative measures such as optimizing the immune system.
They have become experts at writing perscriptions for every kind of sickness. But God, the Creator, gave us this wonderful and amazing immune system that was designed to fight off every kind of disease. Unfortunately, a large percentage of us are in such poor health that our ability to fight disease is essentially compromised.
More often than not, disease follows when our diets are poor, our lifestyle is sedentary and our weight is out of control. In addition, since most of us avoid the sun like a plague, it is essential that we supplement with vitamin D3 if we expect an optimal immune system.

It’s wonderful news. My mother was given Keytruda this summer in hopes it would help her very rare head and neck cancer. In her case, it did not, and she was put on hospice in August and actually passed away this past Sunday. Having said that, it was certainly worth a try. Immunotherapy can be hit or miss lots of times. I joined a Keytruda group on Facebook. Some people who had terrible markers still got results from Keytruda. Others who thought it would work for them had very poor results and had to try other kinds of chemo or else hospice. Many members of the group had no evidence of disease and it was a miracle for them.

My wife is on immunotherapy for a metastatic melanoma in her lungs. Monthly she has a transfusion of two drugs, Yervoy and Opdivo.
After three sessions her cancer has shrunk. However, she has debilitating headaches and nausea. She says if an extended life continues like this, she’s not interested.
She has an appointment on Monday to discuss her options.

Addition to my post at 37:
The insurance company is charged $150,000 per session. Of that, $148,000 is for the two drugs. Together the two drugs might total a pint of fluid. Liquid gold.
