Roberts is always so concerned on how the Court is perceived.

I recall when Roberts got publicly miffed at President Trump when Obama Judges vs. Trump Judges was mentioned.

For some reason, I believe the story. I believe Roberts went nuts and argued that riots had to be prevented rather than the rule of Law.

Roberts hasn’t denied the substance of the story. His PR staff just denied it happened at SCOTUS.

Exactly right. It was a very evasive and weak refutation of a rumor that deserved a far more serious and unequivocal response. If it was completely false and scurrilous the staff reply should have put it firmly to rest. But they didn’t make a convincing effort to deny it — at all.
