Let IT Be
Funny that.
Nice!
Not a big Dylan fan...but "Like A Rolling Stone" is not only my fav but a truly GREAT song. Interesting recording history/story on how Al Kooper's iconic Hammond organ got recorded.
Young impressionable people will almost always find the wrong paths..whether its music choices...public schools..or, lax parent(s)
Getting ready for the “final” exit.
Jack Schaefer, a paperback writer of western fiction, sold the complete rights to his novel SHANE for $1,000,
He never got any royalties or any money from what can be considered the best and most succesful western movie ever made.
They are just old and jealous.
I like some of his stuff. Other stuff is “boomer whining.”
But it iS a capitalist system. He is free to do whatever he wants with his money.
We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto
He’s 79; time to clear the decks for departure.
That was my first thought. He is getting his affairs in order.
Don’t know (or care) who will inherit his estate, but his musical legacy will be in better hands with a professional group then a bunch of family members fighting over his carcass.
Joni Mitchell was a far, FAR better songwriter and, after moving into pop/avant/jazz, began using far more complex chords than Dylan could ever imagine.
Tom Waits also exceeded Dylan in songwriting talent.
In comparison, Dylan was a one-trick pony...albeit a good one.
>Yeah. That punk Zimmerman led too many impressionable young people down the wrong path. <
I expect to see a flood of advertisements featuring Dylan songs now. We will come to associate certain songs with certain makes of automobiles etc.
He earned it so, he can do whatever he wants to do with the money, but I wonder if he is intending to create some sort of charitable foundation or just give it all away. He can’t possibly spend it all in the little time he has left.
One of the worst singers, for sure.
More of a poet than a songwriter. He is among the greatest of all-time. Dylan is a national treasure.
Stevie Nicks just sold her catalog for $100 Million so what does that make Dylan’s worth. Although I never cared for him at all and he can’t sing worth a damn.
Did you hear that Willey Nelson died? Yeah. He was caught playing on the road again.
