Dave too was a longtime environmentalist with a particular interest in marine conservation.

I was employee # 7 at MBARI; lasted about 10 years.

After Dave died, management hired a bunch of people rather than properly funding projects. When fuel prices spiked,
vessels became harbor queens.

Capital always flees to where it is best treated, so California’s only hope to pay their bloated pensions is to seek bailouts, via the stimulus bill, California bonds are in a junk status and have to pay usurious interest. The state pension fund (CALPERS) has been mismanaged that it is virtually insolvent. If any company was run the way that the state is run, they’d be in jail.

Here’s some examples of California trending farther left:

Biden got 3% more of the Cal vote for POTUS than Hillary.

Cal state legislature:

2016 House 55 democrat 24 Republican
2020 House 61 democrat 18 Republican

2016 Senate 26 democrat 13 Republican
2020 Senate 29 democrat 11 Republican
