The Southern Poverty Law Center identifies the Moorish Sovereign Citizens as an extremist group, saying members, “...believe their status as members of a sovereign nation imparts immunity from federal, state and local authorities.”
“Their group believes that they own all of the land between Alaska and Argentina and all the islands in between. Unfortunately, Edmonds falls between that land,” said McClure.
In Maryland, a member of the group moved into a 35,000-square-foot mansion with 12 bedrooms, which was for sale. CBS covered that story.

Police say the group hasn't committed a crime, but that it's visited the same house twice and they expect the takeover attempts to continue. Hasn't committed a crime?! Attempted theft of property, forgery, and fraud are not crimes anymore?
Looks like the police are trying to find another agency with the budget to handle the paperwork.

If they tried that here, I would laugh in their faces, tell them they were trespassing with 15 seconds to get off my land, and shut the door. If we had to open the door again, it would only be to ensure a clear line of sight.
They would not return.

Poorly written article, apparently none of the Washington Squatters were able to remain at the homes they invaded, and were removed by police.
Probably trial balloons to test Mob control of Law Enforcement policy and response. As soon as Police let them stay "temporarily, until a court ruling", they have won, and any home without an occupant physically inside will be Squatted.

The claim of course is bogus, but even if you own the land, that does not mean you own the improvements made by the occupants.

“Their group believes that they own all of the land between Alaska and Argentina and all the islands in between. Unfortunately, Edmonds falls between that land,” said McClure. So their claim is they "own" every square inch of land in all of North and South America? How is pestering homeowners to assert this absurd idea not menacing and disorderly conduct subject to immediate arrest?

These clowns are the same bunch you see with homemade license plates, claim they are “traveling” not “driving” and refuse to produce ID during a traffic stop. It never ends well for them.

I’d be pleased to give them a nice tiny plot they could move in to - it’s six feet deep.
