BTW, yesterday was my 20th anniversary on Free Republic! I joined on November 17, 2000, in the midst of the Bush v. Gore election dispute. Here’s how I found out about FR: I had written a song about the election called "The Palm Beach Pokey," and it was getting a lot of play around the country. So a friend of mine, Mollie Ziegler (now Mollie Hemingway), told me about this site called Free Republic and how people were singing "The Palm Beach Pokey" at various rallies. I checked it out, and the rest is history. Now it's 20 years later, and here we are, in an election dispute again!

Well, happy 20th anniversary! Have cake!

Interesting backstory; thanks for sharing it. I wouldn’t have thought Mollie was old enough to have directed you to FR 20 years ago!

I’ve been searching online, but can’t find the answer I am looking for. I remember a Congressional term where the Republicans held a slight majority in the House, but chose to “share” power with the Democrats. Does anyone remember which term that was? I remember it being a big thing, because of course Republicans folded for the Democrats like they usually do, and I remember Rush talking about this on his show as well when it happened.

In 1960, Illinois, Missouri and South Carolina all went for Kennedy with fewer than a 10,000 vote margin, and Texas with less than a 50,000 vote margin. Michigan was also pretty close (less than 70,000 vote difference).

If Biden is inaugurated, he will be the 45th man to become President and the second Catholic (or rather CINO)...both by stolen elections. As of Jan. 20, 2021, the two worst Presidents in American history will be the two born in Pennsylvania.

12 days until my 20th anniversary. (Actually started lurking in March 1998.)
