So he lied on Form 4473. That’s a crime too.
No sympathy.
It’s not rebellion to fail to duplicate the laws of an overlapping jurisdiction, nor to refuse to enforce on behalf of that other jurisdiction.
Secondly, how can two overlapping jurisdictions have authority over the same topic in the first place? It’s just an end run around double jeopardy, and especially so on issues that the feds have no cause to be concerned with.
And no, I’m not a drug user nor necessarily an advocate of legalization either, like you, but government powers need to be carefully delegated and supervised with great vigilance, and they need to meet the common sense test .
