By the early to mid-90s, the media's horrible liberal slant was too big to hide any longer. Along came the explosion in popularity of Rush Limbaugh, and a few later Fox News (when Fox was a legitimate Conservative alternative thanks to the pioneering work of Roger Ailes and Britt Hume).
Many of us sought out forums like Free Republic because we were some of the few that saw what the media was doing, and fought back.
Today, we don't simply have bias. We have a full blown conspiracy that involves massive censorship, election fraud, election tampering, corruption, criminality, and outright treason (and it is treason because of their alliances with foreign enemies of the United States).
Big Tech and the 6 corporations who own 95% of all media are enemies of America, enemies of Freedom, and enemies of the American people. They are on the side of abject Evil.
The roots of the media's descent into Hell began with the CIA, and Operation Mockingbird. Today, our press is almost 100% compromised, and is nothing but a propaganda arm for Democrats, Globalists, and Satanists.
Today, we don't have a free press, but a dystopian nightmare right out of a George Orwell novel.

Very succinct, very accurate. It’s for reasons like this that I no longer watch anything coming out of the MSM, and yes, that includes Faux News (except for Tucker Carlton).

It began long before that. The FCC was formed in the first term of FDR. He appointed the people to it. They insured all the radio networks were pro-FDR. The radio networks become the television networks.
All the mass media become dominated by Progressive ideology. Progressive ideology moved from being pro-American to pro-globalist and Leftist during the 40's and 50's to blossom into all out anti-American in the 60's.
As the cherry on top, the Chinese are willing to spend lots of money to have influence in the American media (and elsewhere, such as Australia.)
