Any senior that was dumb and gullible enough to vote for Obama last time around kind of deserves Biden. They voted for Obama because they’re pig-headed, stubborn democrats and therefore could never vote for any Republican. I expect they’ll do the same thing this time and vote for all the democrats on the ticket as usual.
Social security is “the third rail of politics” as ANY politician or political advisor knows. Touch it and you’re dead. How could any politician talk about slashing social security - unless he wants to lose. Which has been my thesis all along. Biden knows he’d be arkansided if he ever were to win

Remember in 2016 Trump mentioned that about Florida specifically, he said that there were so many anti-Trump ads making him out to be really horrible that he felt like not voting for himself.
I don’t think ads have the effect that they used to. Trump ran just a fraction of the ads that his primary opponents did, and just a fraction of the ads that Hillary Clinton ran. He preferred to actually campaign in the states required to win rather than flood them with ads. That is wny most of the “republican strategists” hate him, he showed everyone that these “strategists” really weren’t needed, just common sense and the energy to really campaign hard was what was needed.

IIRC, in the 8 years that Obama/Biden were charge-—there was NO Cost of Living increase in Social Security for 4 of those years-—and gas was $5 a gallon.

I agree with the rally strategy. Ads are annoying. We aren’t inured to them any longer. We can fast forward, DVR, and stream, all ad-free. Even the mailings are rarely effective*.
* In my District GOP primary, we had a ringer. A woman who had obvious ties to the left, video evidence of participation in the anti-Walker riots in Madison and anti-Trump statements. She was the favorite. Truth came out by word-of-mouth and talk radio and 1-2 mailings and she lost. Sometimes, the mailings work. Probably, _sometimes_, specific ads work, too.
