How did the country get so whacked out about guns? They used to be a normal part of life, not a political issue.
My dad owned a shotgun and rifle and kept them in his closet. My brothers and I knew that but it never occurred to us to take them out and "play" with them. We didn't need a gun safe.
I was given a bee-bee gun as a kid. Sometime in junior high or high school all the boys took a gun safety class. It was all just part of life.
So, how did half the country get whacked out about guns?
