Trump demonstrates that low death rates are about to plummet to insignificant death rates and the dems double down on the scare tactics.

NYS is counting repeat tests on rhe same patient as new cases.

Is CA doing the same...?

And there are counties in Upstate NY that have testing numbers equivalent to half the county’s population being tested once.

I call BS.

I do suspect there is going to be a rise as winter arrives. This is a respiratory infection and respiratory infections tend to be a bigger problem in the winter months when the humidity is low. That is particularly so in the North. But we will see.

Places like Sweden and China don’t have statistics you can rely on. Both of them made a decision on the front end that because the virus was not nearly as deadly as some predicted, they were just going to let the virus run its course. A lot of other nations did the same. For that reason, they don’t do much to track the spread of the virus and their statistics are not reliable.

The WHO estimated recently that 10% of the worlds population has been infected. That translates to about 800 million people. But the official statistics show that only about 36 million people have been infected. That means that about 20 times as many people have been infected than has been reported. With an error of twenty times the value of the statistic you are trying to measure, you can’t rely on any of these statistics for much.

If the WHO estimate is correct then the US total represents about 1/10 of 1% of the total cases worldwide. I suspect we do a better job of tracking the spread of the virus than most other nations, but even if you assume that our cases are also under reported by a factor of 20, that’s still only 2% of the worlds cases. The US Represent almost 5% of the worlds population.

All Covid numbers are suspect but
DEATHS are the best number to look at and they are down or level.
I like how these fake scientists conflate “new infections” with cases. They do this all the time. New infections scares the hypochondriacs but really means nothing. More testing especially in colleges means more people who test positive but who are not shedders.
