According to the BLS, America’s Fastest Growing Jobs Pay About $24,000 Annually
https://www.newsmax.com/t/finance/article/931207
This was from last year (original Bloomberg article behind paywall). Bet a majority of the job re-growth since April was in this area. Survey after survey stated that job call-backs involved wage or hours givebacks of up to 50%. Even OTR trucking companies have the slashed new hire cents per mile rates as desperate idiots as myself get CDLs
Extremely low-wage jobs that you cant survive on in vast swathes of the USA. Sure 20 years olds can bed-space and share a room, a lot more difficult for 50 year olds with family
A friend runs a 45 employee machine shop.
He has to turn away business. He said its tough to find young kids who either have the discipline or smarts, or once theyre in, who will stick around for any length of time.
The USA must immediately stop subsidizing the Humanities in all forms. Government grants to schools, loan to students, etc
. Promote localized 2-3 year technical training as the Germans do. College is an absolute waste of time for many kids
Well it should, and it will.
Not this election because there are too many GimmeDats, a lot of them ove-educated but under-learned Whites, who have lost their way. They will come back to the fold, as they are beginning to do now, and it will all work out.
Three terms for Trump, we should reward virtue. What a wonderful example for all Americans.
Big deal, so do I and that is my retirement take home after taxes. So whose the bitch now bitch!
They’re doing that.....Trump sending teams in to work with colleges again on shilled training. He’s following through on exactly what he said he wanted to do in regards to that.
What we as Americans need to do is to revamp the EDUCATION SYSTEM so our kids can be ready for manufacturing, instead of Looting and Rioting....
Well, there you go. That's a different argument.
Same EXACT thing happened to me at a Hardees. Bill was like $5.25 and I handed the girl a $10 plus a quarter. She looked at me like I had handed her poison. She had NO IDEA how to figure out the money.
MS brought me into Bellevue during Win95 to work as a hardware tester (networking). Loved it. They paid everything. Job was great. Would I go back now? No.

Its an Indian company now. Indians are now infesting even parts of Microsoft deemed safe, like its game studios.
My former employer (MLB), which furloughed most lower-level developers (below Principal Engineers) in March/April are hiring dot Indians as replacements. Still have contact with a manager there. They hired a dot Indian VP of Technology. 99% of the resumes received are now from dot Indians.
Isnt diversity grand?

Like removing the OPT work visa program?
74% of all American STEM graduates are unable to work in their field due to cheap foreign labor from India and Communist China.
The trades? Jose from Guadalajara has driven down hourly rates to near minimum wage.
Manufacturing? Perhaps if something other than minimum wage was paid for entry-level. Light industrial work is still dominated by Temporary Agencies, in which no benefits are paid and there is a promise of possibly becoming a regular employee after maybe 6 months to a year.
You know that no matter WHERE you start out in the work force you work YOUR WAY UP for crying out loud these kids coming out of college dont even have jobs!! The trades gives you an opportunity to own your own business, Trades are in HUGE demand and they make GREAT MONEY!! Work as an apprentice with someone to show you the ropes whatever the trade may be and start your own business!! I dont u derstand why you THINK people in their early 20s should not work their way up regardless of what the job is!!
I understand perfectly. American kids spent 4 or more years getting a STEM degree (the only degree deemed valuable here) and cant get employed because of foreign trash that the Republocrats love so much.
And mid-50s cant start over from the minimum wage beginning in any industry, including the trades or manufacturing. Most of us have family and other adult responsibilities.
Same cause: cheap Indian and Communist Chinese labor in white collar work, and cheap Mexican labor in blue collar work.
The third way, the collective service-related industries, which include travel, entertainment, sports, media, music, film, restaurants, bars and many small businesses was where those forced out of white or blue collar work could go to work. That was decimated by the lockdowns.
Yep...you gave her a hands up........which frees up her cash.
I did likewise for a son who was struggling....took him grocery shopping a couple times.......a full frigertor and cupboards make all things much better in the heat of staying afloat.
I sympathize with newer companies that were not a part of that but have no sympathy for the older ones. They sold the lie to their workers and themselves that if you don't do this for peanuts, we'll find some third-world 'Replacement American' who will.
Well they've reached under every rock and up into every lower tree branch they could find and won't admit that there is a reason why people in those countries weren't already doing such advanced work and no matter how much you try to teach them, they don't get it.
It was 100% intentional, fully knowing human nature would make it harder for the economy to recover. That was the Democratic plan.
That is why the extra $600 became a sticking point in the extension talks. Trump/Mnuchen knew Pelosi wanted to depress employment and the recovery until after the election.
Then, it would expire and they could make Biden look like he recovered the economy amazingly.
