. . . reparations to descendants of enslaved people and those impacted by slavery.
I’m half Slavic, does that count?
My great grandfather survived 2 years in a Confederate POW camp.
One of my ancestors died in the infamous Andersonville prison.
Another, who was a baptist minister served as a Union Scout.
He served with the Union as a mounted scout.
He saw so much violence, he spent the rest of his life post war suffering from what we now call PTSD. 2 of his daughters died in their 20’s leaving a lot of orphans. One of those daughters was my dad’s mother, and she died when my Dad was 3 years old. 2 of her daughters died at an early age.
My wife and I have about 100 ancestors who served the union. Many were killed, wounded physically or mentally or both.
Does this include Mexicans because there were Black Conquistadors like Juan Garrido who went on a conquest with Ponce De Leon in Mexico. I think I was traumatized by that. So where is my reparations and when do I expect it? /s
How all those Chinese koolies?
