Trump provided ppe, ventilators, military medical personnel, free treatment for those in hospital, a hospital ship, numerous popup hospitals that were never used. He’s provided forgiveable loans to businesses to pay their rent, maintain stasis and retain their employees, enhanced unemployment benefits (and foodstamps) for those that have to be laid off, plus a bonus check to help with the rent or groceries. He’s got our pharmaceutical and medical experts working around the clock on a vaccine, and he’s still got international travel restrictions in place.
What else does Trump owe any governor?

He is not very bright and proves it by coming up with “the state is not going to pay.” If President Trump had ordered the nursing home debacle, the hospital mess, the ventilator miscue and the mask comedy, it might be blamed on Trump. Those screwups were all the little governor’s and he has to own them.

It is time to make a deal.
The city and the state of NY will both go bankrupt and the feds willl; bail them both out after and only after the bankruptcy judge appoints an administrator with the power to reduce pensions and union contracts to reasonable levels, change work rules to improve efficiency and change school curricula to eliminate liberal indoctrination.
One of the criteria for ending the administrator is free elections where candidate of both parties are elected in equal numbers.

Can either New York City or New York State sell bonds to cover these deficits? Theoretically I’m sure that’s possible, however, what is the credit rating of each? And would such huge additional borrowings tip the balance of their bond rating into a lower grade for their bonds, which then increases their interest costs on borrowing?
We really need some spreadsheets to analyze all of that.
It seems clear, they want a Biden and Democrat congressional victory, so that a Biden presidency and Democrat congress will bail out NY City and NY State. Heck, while they are at it, Illinois and Chicago and California are not far behind in falling into financial despair.
Sounds like a whole bunch of people are going to hand the state over for collections and claims courts.

Well then!!! NYC and NY, if they wish to put the budget deficit problem on the Trump administration then they will need to abdicate total control of governance to the Trump administration. That means all laws and rules become the responsibility of the Trump admin. Laws and rules can be scrapped at Trump’s discretion. All revenue will be handled by Trump’s admin. All expenses will be at the discretion of the Trump admin meaning terminations, elimination of departments/agencies, purchases of supplies etc. are on the chopping block.
I doubt that DeBlasio or Cuomo really want that.
