Which officer/affiant signed the statement in the warrant application saying he was? Or did the judge approve the warrant without such a sworn statement?

Somebuddy spLain me, please. A guy shot at the cops through the door. The cops returned fire. The cop is indicted for a crime.

Ok, I'll explain.

Let's say I am walking along, and out of the darkness someone shoots at me. I return fire, in a situation where I have no way of knowing whether my bullets will hit the bad guy, or some innocent bystander, and a bystander is killed.

Do you have an expectation that I would NOT be charged with a crime?

Do they have video of it? If not, anything said by the police isn’t going to be believed. Some wouldn’t even believe that.

True, but that's not what one of the cops did. He apparently ran back out to the parking lot, and decided to fire several rounds through a patio door / window, which went through the apartment into the neighbor's.
