It seems that the Wuhan virus’s risks have been grossly exaggerated

This was a plandemic. Fewer deaths then a regular flu season.
The politicians / democrats have used this to grab power.

I don’t quite see how it’s been proven that COVID is more contagious.

And if so, who really cares? Flu and colds are highly contagious.

Generally, the more contagious, the less dangerous.

Think Avian flu...very dangerous, but not very contagious. Ebola...you really don’t want...not very contagious. It’s as if viruses tend to compensate for their survival by being either highly transmissible, or very deadly.

We also have it easier, with less to do such as daily work. Real physical work has disappeared to make up for what we eat.

Yes, there are people who could help it, but there are many who cannot.

I know my DH has trouble as well as others, despite much exercise and physical housework. I also know my cousin who can go fat or thin in a heartbeat, all depending on a small bit of effort. He doesn’t even need to do much and he can be thing, but slide a bit and he’ll get tubby fast. And of course there was my dad and me, who tended to have to work to get weight on (age helped that).

said, "Covid-19 is MUCH MORE CONTAGIOUS than most other viruses including the flu"
To this day the number one way the virus is spread has not been addressed. Flatulence

said, "Covid-19 is MORE DEADLY than the common flu"
With the financial incentives for hospitals that care for covid-19 the statistics are likely distorted.

said, "It can be argued ... "
As you know that is how politics works science shouldn't work this way. Sadly with the advert of Global warming that is what science has become

Digging deeper ( as an amateur historian) into US history, I find the link that is causing the world’s and US troubles: movement away from God our creator. China, liberals, democrats, EU, socialists and communists all denounce God’s word. I expect much worse events as we as a nation run further away from God. Make no mistake, this is a supernatural battle, one in which only our Creator can impart wisdom and stamp out the FEAR of everything which growing larger every day and running rampant.

Collectivism and fear....Marxist (?) propaganda to wear a mask constantly on T.V.as ads....the mask industry has little to do with the various virus's and more a fad thing than a health thing. News people wearing masks giving hardly intelligible reports is getting a little tiresome as is the push to make everyone conform.,,who is doing the pushing....

It was George Washington farewell address that pointed out that a country can’t survive without having a common way of life based on religion

Cushier jobs are a small part of the problem, but there were office workers in the 1970’s without these levels of fatness. A small Coca-Cola at McDonald’s is now what a large used to be. I see what people put in their carts at Walmart, and all mysteries are solved. They eat and drink garbage that is made to make them crave more of it. At my last office job, I was amazed at the volume of food that women in their 30’s could consume. I’m a 220 lbs guy who lifts 3x a week, and I couldn’t begin to keep up.

#66 Correct!!
Another one I have seen is to allow only republicans to use hydroxychloroquine and not democrats.
The democrats could not object to that right as it is so “dangerous”?

We are still waiting for results, we might have those today or Tuesday. We are hoping her medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis protects her, she is taking tocilizumab. She is overweight with lots of health issues.

No kidding. I have been to buffets and seen one person eat more than my entire family. Of course they probably weighed as much as my entire family too.

I also noticed that all the extreme couponers are overweight. Coupons are always for processed food. No one gives out coupons for fresh vegetables.

Good point about coupons. They are nearly always for junk food.

Way, way back at the beginning of this disaster, I looked up numbers about deaths from pneumonia and the seasonal flu.

I don’t recall the exact numbers, but around 50,000 people a year died from pneumonia. Around 30,000 to 50,000 died from the flue, some years worse than others.

So lets say around 100,000 people die from just these two things every year.

How many of THESE people are INCLUDED in COVID death numbers? OR are “double counted”?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I’m elderly but have the best immune system in the world thanks to taking megadoses ( one gram) of vitamin C and other supplements every morning for the last 40 years. I saw my doc a few weeks back and thanked him for literally writing prescription forms for 8 supplements per day. This makes them deductible.

All docs could, but they won’t. Pharmaceutical companies fund med schools And BigPharma companies are increasingly owned by the Chinese.

Immune system boosters: Liposomal Vitamin C, D3, A, Zinc picolinate, iodine)

My friend, who just retired as a pharmaceutical company exec who actually took those docs on free vacations to Hawaii is on the same page. She takes everything I do and suggested Astaxanthin too.

Ping I guess.

I think and thought this is all a contrived panic borne of political expedience and ignorance of something new.

Knowing what I do now I think it is a contrived panic borne of political expedience and ignorance of something new but now add greed for new medicine that can make someone(s) a hell of a lot of money.

I know of people who have died of this. There is an outbreak in the American Indian community near us. The IHS has done their part to contribute to the final solution for the “Indian Problem” and two have died. One in her 70s and one in her 50s. Neither drank or smoked but as for other things, I can’t say.

What I wonder about most though is why does this nation with the “finest” and certainly the MOST EXPENSIVE health care system in the world, rank in the top 5 of countries in the world in the world in BOTH the rate of infection and death from this stuff? That to me is a crime.

We don’t say people died of the flu unless it was the primary reason.

...obesity “epidemic”...

___________________
Don’t forget that the switch to BMI and then the gradual lowering of the bar between *overweight* and *Obese”.

My husband is active and fit at 69 is 5’11 1/2”. He purposely went from 205 to 185 lbs to 178 lbs. Then he shockingly (to me) went down to 170 after a period of physical labor while still keeping to a weight reduction regimen. The charts declared him perfect weight, but he looked scrawny and lost muscle mass in his forearms, even while lifting and hauling during work periods. He purposely ate more protein and fats and now is back to 180 and looks fine, with normal forearms.

Lots of societal pressures to stay skinny....look at all the antifa, most in their 20s-30s to early 40s. Skinny is not all it’s cracked up to be, either.

I do see fat people everywhere, not downplaying the obvious, but I think the obsession with weight is overdone.

How many obsessive mask-wearers & isolaters are stress-eating at home with no other distractions?

"We don’t say people died of the flu unless it was the primary reason."

Not the point.

We don't say someone did not die of the flu if they happened to also have high blood pressure. That's the point.
