Sure hope you guys can clean up Denver. With the Democrats running the place it’s an impossible challenge, but when our President is re-elected maybe things will change for the better, or Coloradan’s will have had enough of the reign of terror in downtown.

Since 1975 there has only been ONE Republican governor of Colorado, and that was Bill Owens (1999-2007). Sounds like Colorado has been pretty much a Democrat state for almost 50 years. It’s a shame, because it was a beautiful state, physically (though I much prefer Wyoming and Montana).

Serious question. What is it exactly that these rioters want or are hoping to accomplish?

One of the worst outcomes of the civil rights movement was the acceptance of an undifferentiated “right to protest”.

There is no such right.

This is confected out of two actual rights - the right to speak freely, and the right to peaceably assemble IN ORDER TO petition the government for redress of grievances.

It is perfectly obvious that showing up with helmets, face shields or gas masks, body armor, and bats does not contemplate peaceable assembly.

And there is no sense in which breaking windows and setting fires constitute petition in any rational sense.

This is open insurrection, and it will get worse until it is stopped. The fact that the insurrectionists have governmental and military support is turning insurrection into revolution - and that means, all bets are off.

And the state house had a republican majority for 30 years. But I will bow to your superior knowledge of the state as you clearly lived here so long

No reason to be sarcastic, FRiend; I was just saying that Colorado was not as conservative as some like to think. It’s just a fact.

“til about 10 - 15 years ago we were a deeply conservative state. “

I’d say the 1990’s influx of Kalis did us in. We were always a purple State with a “leave me the hell alone” attitude. We swapped dem and pubbie governors every other time or so.

In the 1990’s, the Kalis brought in large sums of money and jacked up our real estate prices. They also brought their liberalism with them. Remember, they moved into Evergeen and Genesee then tried to control “growth” to keep others out.

That must mean that, after all these years, even the FReeper potheads are having to admit to themselves that I've been right...

Ever think that people won't usually take their time to stop and remedially correct an idiot?

And yes, if you're blaming what's happening in Denver on marijuana, you, seriously, are an idiot.

Re: Masks... We (This Deplorable Family) walked in Wal-Mart yesterday and we didn't have our masks on. One busybody complained to us, that if we (Mrs Deplorable and I) wanted to it is our right, but we are harming our kids since they didn't have it on. ConservaTeen said, 'Give me proof it works, lady!'

Lady said he was rude. 😋

Lost one girlfriend when I was 27 to a drunk driver. The drunk, who was driving a semi, ran over my girlfriend’s Chevette killing her, her daughter and her youngest son instantly and her oldest son on life support, until I told the doctors to unplug him. Doctor said he’d be a vegetable. He wanted to play hockey for the Philadelphia Flyers (his team) or the Hartford Whalers (my team).

NOT ONE Sunday Morning News Show ...

NOT ONE 'anchor' asked a democrat to 'disavow' Antifa and BLM - groups causing over a hundred million dollars worth of damage.

BUT every show asked Republican to disavow the free speech of citizens discussing Q on the internet..

Chuck Todd and Chris Wallace need put down the news packets supplied to them by democrat war rooms and open their own eyes.

I know exactly what you mean. I used to live in Colorado. I now live in Washington state. What you said about Colorado also applies to Washington state. The left ruins everything.

They ruin everything leaving a sh!thole, then they move to another state and ruin that one, too.

I live six and a half hours away. Many wealthy from my town had apartments in downtown Denver as a way to get away from small town living and support what the big city offered, and if Covid response didn’t kill what the city offered, rampant lawlessness in downtown Denver certainly did.

Lived in Denver late 1967 until 1975. Then my career took me initially to CA, then back to the east coast and later the mid-west. Our game plan was to return to CO when we retired. Which we did, but chose to live in western CO rather than the now congested front range. In order to get our big city fix, or attend a Broncos game, we rent a home in Cherry Creek (a RBO thing). This works nicely for us ... up until Covid-19 and the rioting in downtown Denver ... which will have some impact on our plans for late September this year. We'll see ...

“Drug abuse starts with peer pressure, a desire for a thrill or to be perceived by acquaintances as being daring.”

Yes. The peer pressure is a result of being surrounded by mostly unhealthy people in an unhealthy culture with few other “thrills” most can ever hope to experience beyond drug abuse.

For many working class kids, owning a basic home and taking a vacation once a year is now a fantasy they see no way to achieve. The numbers simply don’t add up nomatter how hard they work.

We’ve been sold out by leaders in all parties. Lied to and programmed our entire lives for greater corporate profits. People with no other hope but to get high and tear it all down are the results...
