If the Dems ran the Senate, President Trump would have been impeached already.
The letter was from June 2019!
You sure are all for the Dems taking over the Senate.
I also favored Romney losing in 2012, to clear the way for new GOP leadership. I was right. If Freepers had their way in 2012 and Romney had won, Romney would be in his last year of his presidency right now, handing the baton off to his VP, Paul Ryan
Dems need to be in charge and be accountable
Fox guards hen house what could go wrong,OH wait note history.
Burr is no longer the Chairman, thank goodness.
Marco Rubio now holds that position.
FWIW, Burr really creeps me out!!
Its just more confirmation that Democrat Mark Warner was the true chairman of the committee then, not Richard Burr.
Hopefully Rubio is better than Burr, which isnt a high bar.
Hopefully Rubio is better than Burr,
Why would he be? He was part of the bipartisan committee that sent this letter.
Burr is no longer the Chairman, thank goodness.
Marco Rubio now holds that position.
Yes, after being part of the committee that unanimously hounded Bannon and the Trumps , while blowing kisses to Mueller. Rubio is a new face on the same body
By my reckoning, you will get your wish.
My best-case scenario is D+6, worst case is D+11.
I'm the only one here who predicted, repeatedly, D+40 in the House in 2018, which was exactly correct, and I had R+5 in the Senate, which turned out to be wrong because even I did not appreciate how much the people hate Republicans.
The GOP is finished. Time to consider what comes next.
The wording makes it sound like this is a new thing, not a letter of 13 months ago.
Youre probably right, but Burr is such a lowly specimen that even a pessimist like me thinks Rubio would be hard pressed to be worse.
The judges appointed by President Trump will serve for an average of at least 15 to 20 years while he will serve at most another 4 years. Certainly, you could not be so naive as to believe that any vacancy left open during the remainder of his term would not be filled immediately upon election of a democrat.
Republicans need majority control of the Senate to confirm Trump's judicial nominees.
The House will stay majority Democrat but the Senate has to stay majority Republican for four more years.
Time is running out.
No Republican majority in the Senate across the next four years would mean no Republican majority in the Senate ever.
Exactly. I would like to see the remaining establishment types purged from the Republican party....the open borders, chamber of commerce, outsourcing, foreign military adventures, handing out H1bs like cotton candy, have absolutely no spine when it comes to standing up to the Left types. I want them gone.
That said, I will have no choice but to hold my nose and vote for the one we have coming up for reelection in November. No, I don’t like him but what’s the alternative? Another mouthpiece for Schumer? Another vote against confirming strict constructionist judges as well as administration officials? No thank you.
4 reasons to have some doubts.
Sorry, cant go with the Dems taking over the Senate, specifically because the Senate confirms Judges and Supreme Court Judges.
You miss the point. Even as the minority Democrats already control the Senate intel committee. One of those prized Trump SCOTUS judges just voted to give half of Oklahoma to Indian tribes.
Our institutions are corrupt and a few judges are not going to fix that. The only reason we hear so much about judges is otherwise the GOP controlled Senate is utterly useless. Not. Good. Enough. Period. The GOP is fiddling while this country burns. We need a genuine opposition party to the progressive-corportist alliance. The Age of Trump has proven the GOP will never be that.
That is the most stupid comment I have ever read on this forum in at least 20 years.
Even the dumbest comment in the history this fine forum is not as insane as a sitting GOP Senator voting to remove a GOP POTUS based on a Democrat hoax impeachment. And that Quisling GOP Senator retaining his status in the party. Yet the GOP continues to feather Mitt Romney’s nest. Why is that?
There where a few actual geniuses early on. They where ridiculed off the site. Two of them i was following what they said. Real geniuses often have very poor personal skills.
