Related story, for the first time ever in history, Taiwan won’t be hit with a typhoon in July.

There will be huge loss of human and animal life if it fails. But life is cheap to Chi-Coms. (They eat cats, don’t they?)

This all seems so Biblical.

The evil Chinese regime has persecuted Christians (and others) for a long time.

A man is chosen by God to confront the evil rulers.

He threatens their economy, if they do not reform.

They do not reform.

Tarrifs follow.

No Reform.

A plague on their pigs follows.

No Reform.

A plauge on people follows.

No Reform.

Horrendus Floods follow.

No Reform.

Anyone else see a pattern here?

20% is flooded, and a large portion is dried up as a result of drought up north.

BTW, the dam was built under the usual corruption within that political system. Several engineers quit, and they claim that it wasnt even dug down into solid bedrock before they started pouring concrete.

News today from sources say that since they built it in sections, some of the sections have substantial cracks forming.

If it does not blow out, it will be a miracle.

The average flow rate at Niagara Falls is about 28 million liters/sec.

Are the recent storms significantly out of the ordinary? Timing of monsoon season has to be pretty well established. Seems like a screw up by the operators not to have previously lowered the level to have room for the typical rains plus some margin. Look back at Hoover dam in 1983....

Its called scour velocity, but you need to consider the debris in the water combined with speed of the flow. This is what will cause the damage and once that loosens the rocks that will add to more erosive action. It will become exponential

The concrete in the Hoover Dam has finally cured completely. Believe it or not.

Makes me wonder if this dams concrete is still green since it is fairly new.

That's Magazine (Apparently a communist Chinese mouthpiece) reports:

"The Yangtze River can be divided into three parts: the upper, middle and lower reaches. The middle and lower reaches are at high-risk for flooding."

"Although Zhang Shuguang, director of the Three Gorges Corp’s Hub Management Bureau stated that the dam is sound enough to withstand “twice the mass flow rate recorded on [July 19],” the entire Yangtze River basin cannot only rely on the Three Gorges Dam as its safety is paramount.

As for a solution, China is developing ‘sponge cities,’ which as the name implies would consist of permeable water systems to prevent flooding and could replenish water supply. Different sponge city projects have been implented across at-risk cities like Sanya, Shanghai, Wuhan and others." Pity the poor residents of those cities designated to become "sponges" by the Party's apparatchiks.

It's more than 20% of their farmland. Their entire farmland is wiped out. Also due to drought in the far north.

They used plenty of concrete. I’m not sure which Cement Type was used for the mix.

Better stock up on food, FReepers. Because if this dam blows, food prices are going to skyrocket.

And who will benefit the most?

Canadians, Australians, the United States, Brazil. India? Japan, South Korea, Vietnam?

Who will be hurt the most?

Of course, China. Then North Korea, (gives them a good opportunity to break away from China.)

But also, Africa, Bangladesh, anyone who depends on an outside food supply. Philippines? Indonesia?

Also, for how long? At least a year, maybe two. The Chinese regime may fall.

And who will get the credit for that?

None other than President Donald Trump... and God.

Fascinating facts. Thanks.

I arrived at the village of Shuifu, Yunnan Province, China in late September 1976 to start up the steam plant in a new fertilizer factory. It was 1,600 miles upstream from the mouth of the Yangtze at the Pacific Ocean.

Crude barges were towed upriver by men pulling the tow-ropes. There were no draft animals and no motorized barges. They were unloaded by many children, so as young at 4 years old.

You know what? You’re right. And SOMEHOW, it would be Trump’s fault, and America’s scared responsibility to rescue them and save communism.

“Are the recent storms significantly out of the ordinary?”

Yes, they started early this year, and have been very heavy - like once in a hundred years heavy, or even more.

The Three Stooges dam? They cut corners. Bet on it.

BTW. They claim that they did the first test on it and it was leaking through underneath the thing.

How much of this is factual..we will soon see.
