It’s like Austin, Texas. State Capital, University town. Do the math.
The irony here is that downtown Boise actually has a district that is heated geothermally. It includes the Capitol building. The electric power in Idaho is already provided by hydroelectric dams. I guess she wants to cook/slice birds just like in California.
Then she is an idiot if this is the list. There is a long street in Boise walled “Warm Springs Ave”. guess why? there are geothermal springs along the river that could be tapped. almost free energy. But lets not use what s there already. I was born and grew up in Boise.
We left Boise in the mid 80s and Californication of the Gem State was well underway then. I haven’t followed politics there but when I read they have a female mayor pushing “green” initiatives I realized it’s all but over for my home state. Liberals ruin everything.
*insert your favorite punchline here*
I swear, the USA has mommy issues or something. People can call me a misogynist, I don't give a **** anymore.
Oh, no. One of my sons just moved to Boise from Wisconsin, and now this! It’s all the fruitcakes moving on from California, Portland and Seattle.
I used to be a feminist, insofar as thinking women could do any job a man could not requiring a man’s physical strength. But not one woman I know thinks that.
Nor do many of my old girlfriends from years ago who I used to think were being unfair to their “sisters.”
Was I a misogynist then for not listening to them or am I a misogynist now for thinking they were right all along?
There is a recall petition currently gathering sigs. Hoping for the best.
What happened was that Ms. McLean campaigned as a moderate, and was able to defeat a sitting mayor (who loved to spend money and was mostly lib himself) and also a hapless GOPer (who IIRC was a previous mayor and was removed from office due to DWIs, carousing, and misappropriations. GOP voters were less than motivated.) Probably not entirely correct, but it's close.
Then, after safely elected, McClean comes out of the moderate closet like a California Marxist.
She's not an Idaho native. Massachusetts I think.
.
Idaho is 7th in the US for hydropower generation.
Not just for power, but all the lovely boating and fishing, flood control and agriculture.
Idaho would be a 3rd world state without the dams. They get real testy with enviros who talk smack about tearing out dams.

It does get a little complicated.
Thanks for the info.
She needs to move to either Massachusetts or California.
I saw your handle, by the way.
In May, there actually was a seaplane convention and air show at a lake here in Maine. Northern Maine.
I saw it on the news. Lots and lots of seaplanes coming and going. People having a good time. I wish I was there.
Watch your patatas
1. California: 21,018 (26.3%)
2. Washington: 14,955 (18.7%)
3. Utah: 6,626 (8.3%)
4. Oregon: 4,735 (5.9%)
5. Texas: 4,180 (5.2%)
As you can see, the majority of people moving here are from very liberal states. We are so screwed.
Well.. many of them might be conservative refugees, too, so it may not be all that bad after all.

Here’s some reading material for you. ;-)
That, FRiend, is quite a leap into the realm of the esoteric. I applaud you.
I've always known that I'm at least a couple centuries out of my element. ;)
