There are three bridges from the Portland area across the Columbia to Washington. The first one is west of Portland. The I-5 bridge is right in Portland. (For the record I-5 through Portland is not a freeway, the crazies have prevented them from allowing the creating of an actual freeway in Portland.)
The actual freeway that is used by the truckers and everyone else is the 205. It does skirt Portland proper, but is to the east of downtown Portland. The Portland Airport is right off of the 205.
