I recall being in a big city command center during one of the major city riots of the 60s as the liaison intel rep from the Army. My presence was there solely to provide intel to the DOD in case of a need for fed troops once they had virtually burned through the National guard. Recall that a good number of the guard at that time were away in our foreign war in SE Asia. The FPS guy, who incidentally had more reason to be there than the Army rep did in the 60s, should have arrested the mayor for interfering. Recall an FPS contract guard was killed in Oakland Ca last month during one of these riots. Too bad when those logs came down the river from St Helens volcano they did not take Portland with it to the Sea.

About the only thing Portland is now lacking is a brick wall, a firing squad, and a fat Cuban cigar.
The statutes are on the books to deal with anyone, including mayors, who impede FPS.
It looks like the administration lawyers need to hit the law books and CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and get up to speed.
