I liked JoJo Rabbit a lot. Got 2019 Oscar for writing. A comedy about Hitler filmed in New Zealand. It’s mostly satire, and some people don’t really get satire (half of my friends). I saw it twice and may buy the DVD.
Please Stoner. You were one of the main a-holes that helped impliment this crap in Hollywood. Poor rich white guy gets bit by his own dogs. Tisk tisk!
Will check. I get satire. Death of Stalin was good
You wanted all this you liberal cupcake moron. These are your peeps demanding all this crap and you supported them.
o he did not
he’s just p1ssed because he takes it personally and it might affect his ability to make more films, or that his existing films may be critiqued more sharply by the new cancel culture vultures
Exactly. He had no problem wallowing in that cess pool for decades. Now he’s concerned.
Jo Jo Rabbit is Taika Waititi, his wit is brilliant. If you haven’t seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople you must! It’s his first full length film and still his best in my opinion.
THAT they can watch. Suggest a character in a film is a Conservative or has such positions and they freak out as if it were truly a horror.
Didn’t Stone wind up apologizing for his Screenplay for “Midnight Express” because it offended the Turks?
I admit-I try to give people their whole life to come around.
Even more so if they admit they were wrong and repent, rather than just acknowledging what is right.
I figure if God can do that for us, I can try to do that for my fellow man.
I admit, if Soros came out tomorrow, and said he was wrong about everything, and genuinely repented the things he had done, I could accept that and forgive him in my heart.
Of course, it is up to God to forgive him for what he has done, but...I could lessen the bitterness and anger I feel towards him.
I have a little experience in this, and I think I could do it, though I fully understand why some people couldn’t.
I remember hearing that from someone I work with during a discussion about nonsense apologies...
My mother took me to that movie when I was eight years old. Luckily, I don’t think I understood enough to realize exactly what was going on, but how weird is that? And WTH was my mother thinking?
Robespierre was upset when they came for him.
Lots of comments about Oliver Stone being responsible for this type of environment. But I disagree. He’s always struck me as an old-school leftist. Yes, he’s way lkeft of center. But he’s not been a free speech hater like today’s dimms. And he’s not a slobbering pro-war corporate shill like today’s Dimms. Plus he makes damn good movies. Whatever his foibles, he’s not responsible for today’s PC BS. If you think he is, give some examples. I’m open to it. Just can’t reflexively condemn him.
How fitting an end for the man that authored:
The Law of Suspects
"...Anyone accused of being the enemy of the revolution could be arrested and executed"
Trial? Who needs a trial. It is the will of the people!
.... probably 2-3 who were completely willing.
The garden variety rockstar has dozens of willing at any given time. Weinstein could give them a career. Thered be a willing line stretching for miles.
Well Oliver, you can’t make a movie in Hollywood without the approval of the local Chinese Commissar, either. So there.
You can draw a pretty clear line from Stone’s decades of aid and comfort of Castro to the AOC/Antifa/cancel crowd. Now he’s annoyed he’s on the wrong side of the golem he helped build.
Yeah, he won't back down. /snicker
