It will be hard to top “Springtime for Hitler in Germany”.

Indeed. Too bad we never got to see the History of the World Part II.

The drunken ravings of my father-in-law are still better than today’s history classes. Nevertheless, few things are more entertaining and enjoyable to me than just reading real history.

Beautiful article about how to engage in debate in general, if you wish to even hope of being effective. I love this.

I might see it, but only if they stop the show to lecture me from the stage.

I’m with you Sans-Culotte,

This column is basically about nothing. Who cares how people discuss Hamilton? It has nothing to do with anything important.

the weightier matters are about objective reality.

No. The truth is that people with differing opinions do see “objective reality” from different views. Listen. Understand your fellow debater. Craft your argument to him; share how your opinion has bettered your life. You will have more effect than insulting him by insisting your point is more objective than his.

Now substitute Hamilton for the “forbidden fruit” with the same sorts of exhortations given to Eve that were given to the blog author and Eve would have again been flattered into committing original sin. The bloggist’s first instinct was correct. He may have also been trying to be a wolf in a conservative’s clothing. He basically is saying:” Oh don’t be stiff in your views....look at the progress I made in opening myself up to reasoning with progressives....now I have no chest!”

For reasons never clear to me, for liberals Hamilton became a sort of Haj for the muslims. Not only were they obligated to see it. They were obligated to show excited pictures of themselves holding up the tickets, and more pictures of them under the marquee on the way into the theater, then more pictures of them excitedly in their seats holding up the program.

After the show, they had to post on social media about how they cried and they loved it and they couldn't wait to go see it again and the loved it and they cried.

Really weird, cult like behavior. I haven't seen it, but I gather it's just a musical play, where black people dress like founding fathers and rap stuff. I don't get the awe and reverence these knuckleheads have for it.

The musical is based on this book:

My 89 year old grandfather who collects original documents, letters, antiques and memorabilia related to the American Revolution adores the musical.

Beg to differ. Knowing that raising the minimum wage lowers employment hasn’t bettered my life - but it’s simple fact, supply and demand confirmed by 19 of 20 studies. All one can do in the face of a raise-supporter is point out those facts.
