I think one main reason there is not much showing of actual sick people is just HIPAA. Hospitals don't allow reporters to wander around. Also everyone who is not essential is being kept away from covid patients.

"The media" could do a much better job conveying how serious the complications can be even if you survive. Of course this isn't true for everyone, but why play Russian roulette?

Noticed this from a doctor on Twitter a few days ago:

Took care of my first COVID infection "survivor" today in the ER. They had a trach and PEG tube and had a stoke from COVID leading to hemiparesis.
But they didn't die, so they're not in that 1% mortality that everyone if touting.

tracheostomy = air tube inserted into the neck
PEG tube = feeding tube inserted into the stomach
hemiparesis = paralyzed on one side
