“...women were excluded.”

I get tired of hearing this crap. Wyoming may have been the first place on earth to deliberately enfranchise women in 1869. (Yes, I know NJ allowed women to vote earlier, but that I think was a loophole that got closed). Most women in the U.S. had the vote long before the 19th Amendment was ratified. We lead the world in an idea, and then idiots like Biden criticize us.

And as for slavery, despite having existed since the dawn of humanity, it only started to fade away worldwide in the 19th century, the same time give or take a decade or two as it ended here. We weren’t the first to end it, but we weren’t by any means the last. (I’m aware it still exists, primarily in Africa/Arabia—but we’re not supposed to talk about that).

In the guest house, NPR is broadcasting continual stories of racism as recent as 1974....1974! That is 46 effing years ago. When I use the point that I had zero to do with it, the inlaws say that blacks were held back, and therefore they should be given an inside track for a number of years. I state, WTF is affirmative action from the 60’s. They say that that is not enough. White guilt is their cocktail of choice. Time for some tainted olives.

Not very long ago Biden was amazed at the existence of a “clean, articulate” black man. Now he wants us all to get serious about racism.

Hey Joe, maybe the whole problem isn’t us living up to the words but you and your fellow democrats trying to burn them and the nation down.

Yeah, it’s funny how the sainted communist countries have to build walls to keep people in, and WE have to build walls to keep people out...

Slavery still exists in the world today...

If Biden gave a damn he would have shown some concern for slaves who are alive and not just dead slave from hundreds of years ago.

as the country grapples with widespread unrest over systemic racism and police brutality.

Okay Tal, please explain what systemic racism is, where it exists, and who is in charge of it? I wish that someone, anyone, that uses the term systemic racism would explain how the system works.

Call me ignorant, by I don't see the USA as having systemic racism. If anything, the whites in this country have bent over backwards, to the detriment of whites, to give minorities advantages in everything from college entrance, hiring, and set asides in government contract and purchasing work.

What I don’t understand is why the Democrat party constantly beats the racial drum when they already have all the black votes on their side. What middle of the road voter wants more of this if protests and mayhem come with it. The BLM group has never articulated an example of a program of legislation. They just want the system to give them power. Somehow that has to be addressed in the Democrat platform.

Dear Mr. Axelrod.

There are many Americans who died fighting for freedom, liberty, and the right for people like you to have careers writing your own opinions. They died in places far from their homes, far from their families, far from those who loved them and who they loved. Most, if not all of them had no roll in defining the world and the political realities that they died because of.

They had nothing to do with the Holocaust, but many died in the process of defeating Germany, thus stopping genocide and leading to the liberation of those remaining in the camps. They died, in a very real, and indisputable way, saving Jewish heritage and generations of Jewish families. Their efforts also liberated and/or saved large parts of Europe - allowing Europeans the liberty to define their own lives. Americans didn’t demand to ‘rule over’ or take resources from these people and nations. They gave them their freedom, and reopened the path for them to choose how they would and do live.

Few of these Americans went to an Ivy. Few studied at Oxford or Cambridge. Their siblings who survived, and those like them who fought beside them and survived, are the fathers and grandfathers (and yes, mothers and grandmothers) of those people you now chastise for being stupid, uneducated, racist, deplorable, Trump voters.

Shame on you. Deep, deep shame on you. You live in a nation that is home to many of the most charitable and caring people in the world. You live in a nation that, despite the cynicism that has permeated so much of Europe, still believes in a God who is greater than them, and a God who loves all. They have spiritual perspective and humility. You would do well to read about the Tower of Babble, and the smallness and lack of wisdom in intellectual hubris.

What do you believe in? The media hierarchy? The academic hierarchy? The political hierarchy? What?

Do you think you or any of those at Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, The NY Times, The Washington Post, CNN, or any of the other ‘establishment’ institutions and organizations have a better and more valid understanding of why we exist and what the purpose of our lives is - beyond other human beings?

Your hubris is astounding, and frankly, dangerous. That you and those like you feel both compelled and justified in pushing your viewpoints as the absolute in truth, is no different than any other self-convinced wannabe totalitarian in history.

Grow up. Look beyond yourself. And, very importantly, realize that your sense of intellectual superiority is not justified - in the slightest, in any context.

Enjoy it now because God forbid he ever got elected race and black lives won’t matter very much to them until around summer of 2024.
