Not a funny situation.
The Chinese pushed this to the point of fatal conflict for the first time in 45 years. That China will do this is a mark of stress, or even desperation by their regime.

Chairman Xi keeps making bad moves. It’s only a matter of time before his nervous colleagues find a way to retire him before he leads them all into a very bad outcome.
I agree with the assessment that there is an air of desperation in their conduct. Picking a fight with India, by no means a pushover in a military confrontation (especially on their turf) cannot end well for Beijing.
The loss of control in Beijing is mirrored in the increasingly bizarre actions of the political left in the free world. Trump is living rent free in their heads.
