I was listening to a friend rant about this. he was opposed and sarcastically proposed that the "Fort" be changed to "Post" and then named with American Indian names.
LOL, I could just see ... Post Apalachicola and a whole series of other difficult to pronounce names. I was then reminded that that would be appropriation of the Indian culture and would not be tolerated by the left. The left ruins everything.
His wife proposed naming the posts after Generals and Heros of the American Revolution. But I am sure that will cause some future conflict when the Revolution falls out of favor.
