In this passage, we believe the phrase, “without natural affection”, is homosexuality. A lot of the translations don’t go there.

I prefer KJV. Some believe it is a perfect translation, but I don’t go that far. I just believe it’s the best and most accurate.

I don’t think ‘due process’ means what you think it does. I don’t think Floyd was ever actually charged... I’ve never even heard that police were in possession of the alleged fake $20 bill. I’ve heard not a word about the woman who was with Floyd at the time he interacted with the store clerk who called the police (she was described as also ‘acting crazy’ from what I recall).. for that matter I haven’t heard from the store clerk.
Fact is, he was placed in custody... and became the responsibility of the officers... which they failed in obvious ways. If you want to see this dereliction of duty as ‘denial of due process’... fine. That term is usually reserved for actual juridical proceedings.

“Due process is the legal requirement that the state must respect all legal rights that are owed to a person”

Even a healthy person is going to have some difficulty breathing when they lay on their chest with their arms behind their back.

And even more so with their neck being kneeled on.

The officer’s actions were criminal - but that doesn’t make Floyd an angel any more than Floyd’s behavior justifies the extent of Chauvin’s.

She was not attacking him. She was telling the truth about him.

If either the body-cam or audio reinforced the image of the cop knee-ing Floyd, you can bet both would have been put into the public view by this time.

The early reports were that the police had their cams off. Has that been refuted yet?

These were not the actions of the State of MN... they were the actions of 4 police officers employed by the city of Minneapolis. That is clear by how both that municipality and the state acted in consequence of Floyd’s death. When police officers act in dereliction of duty that is not on the state, unless you can show that the state caused them to so behave... which would apply if you can link the state to the action itself. Can you show that it was the intent of these officers to deny Floyd a trial by killing him? If so, then you would have your denial of due process... and the charge would be 1st, not 2nd degree murder.

So what, constitutional rights go out the window on the city level?

Apparently, Mark does, too.

I just pre-ordered Candice Owens’s new book. I encourage you to do the same.https://t.co/Rl6hb2Zxcc— Mark R. Levin (@marklevinshow) June 6, 2020

None. The Constitution is supreme.

If you want to say that Floyd was denied due process under color of law... fine. Ultimately I’d just end up splitting hairs between state and individual responsibility. I’m more concerned that police are inadequately trained to recognize medical emergencies and how to deal with them.

For example... diabetics.. many die in police custody every year because ketoacidosis often presents as erratic behavior that resembles drunkenness.. they get thrown into drunk tanks and go into diabetic comas or worse. Also persons on certain medications (phenothiazines) get thrown into un-air-conditioned cells without water and die of dehydration (this last often happens in state facilities).. I could go on and on. I think the knee on the neck is distracting from the real problem here. If Floyd’s death can be made meaningful, I think it would be to train responsible persons better on how to recognize medical issues with people in their custody and how to deal with them adequately.

I agree with conservative98 - when you worry about the President’s tweeting, you do sound like a Democrat, because they are always expressing that same concern.

You might as well say he needs to be more “Presidential”, or that he shouldn’t “incite violence“, or that he should “listen to the experts”.
