The people who have instigated this mayhem should be given capital punishment.
The question is would he still be alive if Chauvin hadn't knelt on his neck for eight or nine minutes? I'm not a police officer but I would be willing to bet that on an average day there are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of suspects across this country who resist arrest and they manage to make it to the police station alive and breathing. Why couldn't Chauvin accomplish the same with Floyd?

I would imagine that the manual says not to listen to BS lies. Not to mention that the hold is supposed to be employed when there is a high likelihood of onlookers attacking the arresting officer. To immediately let a perp up you fought like hell to subdue is just plain stupid.
Here is an idea, instead of destroying law and order in this country, why dont we have a campaign that teaches civil interaction during arrest. I bet you would get a lot less dead perps. The problem is black people have become enboldened to believe that they can resist as much as they want and it is ok. It isnt ok. It will get you killed. Play stupid games win stupid prizes!

ignore pleas for help and not even “test” the suspect by letting off SOME

In my old county a few years ago a kid was claimed to have escaped custody AFTER having his hands cuffed behind his back.
Then eluded the cops long enough to unlock and open a sliding glass door, grab a rifle, and shoot a deputies finger off.
Before being being killed by one of the deputies of course.
Doubt you ever heard so much as a whisper about it, since he was white.
Remember, he supposedly did ALL of this AFTER being cuffed.
Remember, all the liberal government officials already let them out so they wouldn't get COVID-19. And more than likely, many of the previously incarcerated jackasses have been out on the street pillaging, looting, and destroying their neighborhoods.

I've studied martial arts for over 40 years. We learn many techniques that have a goal of "compliance". When we hit that point, we can then back off ever so slightly but maintain the hold so that if the training partner tries to escape, we can immediately apply just a little pressure and they instantly become very "compliant" again. We can hold them that way for hours if needed, safely under our control.
I have no idea what this cop did or what his intentions were, but you'll never know by watching a video.
I hate bad cops as much as anyone, but right now this guy is an unknown based on my personal MA training.
Maybe the medical examiner can determine if loss of blood flow to the brain was the cause of death. I'll wait for the results before judging.

That’s a fair question. But at least there’s an end game with a taser. You tase a guy, and then he’s pretty much incapable of resisting you. Tase him again if you’ve got to. Then hogtie him, and throw him in the back of a paddy wagon.

While on the forum it is generally considered bad form to follow such advice, sometimes it is advice worth heeding. There are facts that do not add formally to the conclusion to be drawn, so at times waiting for more information is a waste of time.
However, one it came out that he is a “twin” to an NBA player, the idea of “larger than normaL’ ought to begin factoring in.
There is a reason why people should be sentenced only after being tried by jury after trial, not after being indicted via twitter.
If you are larger than the authorities and try to exploit that size . . . play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Do you know? Autopsy said he wasn’t strangled or asphyxiated. Both of those manners of death result in specific and visible changes to the body.
Why is the toxicology report not public yet?
