RE: Herd immunity was never their goal per an interview I heard w their ambassador to the U.S.

So, what was their goal then?

Another... We hate Sweden because they won’t commit economic suicide like everybody else did hit piece...

Sweden...10 million people, no lock-downs... 3,925 deaths.
New York City... 8.4 million people, locked down... 28,743 deaths.

Yup... Those lock downs are sure paying dividends, that is, if you own a funeral home.

Deal with the virus without crashing either the healthcare system or the economy.

Next question.

As long as we keep in mind that Sweden in terms of square miles is 173,000 sq. miles, while New York City is just 302 square miles.

Sweden is nearly 600 times the area of NYC, which means it’s easy to prevent human to human transmission, unlike the DENSELY PACKED NYC where people live on top of one another and travel on packed subways and buses.

Stockholm on the other hand ( Sweden’s largest city )with 980,000 inhabitants, has less people than ANY of New York City’s five boroughs.

I think the case that it is higher than 7% is that there is no full lockdown and the effective R in Sweden is less than 1 since new .cases are dropping.

Just 7.3% of Stockholm's residents have developed coronavirus antibodies

You don't need the antibodies to be immune from the virus.......Some people are just immune. 328 million people did not catch the 2017-18 epidemic flu virus while 48.8 million did......

I don't see a lot of drop so R0 is very close to 1...

The 7% is totally dependent on the accuracy of the antibody test. Hoping it is more on the basis that they didn't have a lock down is wishful thinking.

Fair enough - R close to 1. The theoretical R is much higher - maybe 2 or 3. Partial social distancing is responsible for some R drop and some must be due to antibodies.

Maybe with enough social distancing and mask wearing, herd immunity is effectively reached at a much lower level than would be needed otherwise.

With long term economic destruction and suicide...people can do what they want...the only issue is when the government mandates stufff.

Actually the death rate based on the antibody tests and the population gives a value of about .5%. That’s Point Five Percent.

The experts expected between .1% and 1%. Sweden is dead center if the data is correct. Maybe a little high. I’ve been thinking .3% is where we will end up. That figure will decline if and when there is vaccine or a pill that is over the counter at CVS.

Okay... Let’s play that game...

Seoul South Korea... Population density 45,000 per sq mile.
4 deaths.

New York City... Population density 26,403 per sq. mile.
21,086 deaths.

Something is rotten in New Amsterdam.
