They vote in CRAP in those cities, and then move on to DECENT place to vote in CRAP there.

I voted for Ross Perot in 1992. Was that wrong?

I lived/worked in Telecom corridor (Plano, Richardson, N. Dallas) in 92. Perot was very popular. Many co-workers and friends WASTED their votes on Perot.

Perot accumulated a grand total of ZERO electoral votes - won ZERO states.

The reason they are called 3rd party is because they finish no higher than 3rd.

Reach all the way back to George Wallace for a 3rd party candidate that won any electoral votes.

Vote for who ever you want but don't delude yourself into thinking it is anything other than a symbolic (feel good) vote.

with all due respect...

"I agree, that could be a problem. However, my point (hypothesis, whatever) is that the very nature of big cities breeds socialism (I won’t say ‘liberalism’, because that word doesn’t mean what Americans think it does). Change the environment, and you’ll change the people."

It is a real problem. It is why Colorado is turning 'blue'. It is why Austin is blue. It is why the Tri-Cities is beginning to be purple. And, I can go on.

Lockdowns Don’t Save Lives, They Trade Them

Exactly so.

Oh sure, that's how it works in real life; but, how does it work in theory? /s

Part of my 'hypothesis' is wishful thinking. I want rural areas to revive. Cities tend to promote dependence on government, and that leads to a socialist mindset. The culture is different in small towns & that environment affects newcomers. However, as you suggest, if there are too many newcomers the culture is changed. That works at the local level, as well as the national level.

As for Austin -- two things: it's a city, and it's a capital city.

Mitch, Mitch, Mitch,

I knew in 1967 [based on visits and transits from close proximity at the time]that I didn’t ever want to live in NYC.

Subsequent events and time have not shaken my opinion, not even one scintilla.

I knew that Bush was going to take Wyoming’s 3 electoral votes, and voting for Perot was my way of saying “Thanks “ for all he did for the POWs. Besides, he was spot on with his assessment of NAFTA. Wallace, whom I also voted for, was years ahead of his time when he pointed out that there wasn’t a dimes worth of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats.

Niel Ferguson actually has a HISTORY of sky high death estimates.

His projections led to millions of British livestock killed due to hoof and mouth disease projections. And it turned out inspectors were spreading it through unsterilized shoes.

He predicted up to fifty thousand dead from mad cow disease.

He predicted up to 200 million dead from bird flu. Note that’s worse than the Wuhan virus and they still didn’t lock everything down.
