I don’t see him doing so. If he drops out BEFORE the convention, the BernieBros try to shove in Bernie as number 2, and maybe 1/3 of Democrats stay home. Bernie doesn’t have the coattails that Biden does, even with the dementia.
He might quickly appoint a VP and do the same, hoping to shuffle the nomination over to the VP, but then the same thing happens. The Dems are stuck with him and this isn’t getting better.

Egypt had introduced a resolution at the U.N. Security Council condemning Israeli settlements as illegal, and a vote was scheduled for the next day.

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration insists it was disciplined in its silence over how it would ultimately vote on resolutions related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that ultimately reached the UN Security Council, where it holds veto power.
Hours before such a vote was set to take place– on a resolution condemning Israel’s settlement activity– one senior administration official told The Jerusalem Post that the president’s team “was not involved in formulating the resolution, nor have we promoted it.”
“We have not communicated to any UN Security Council members how the [US] would vote if the resolution comes before the UN Security Council,” the official said.
