You left out the alternative explanation that he doesn't actually know what was stolen because it wasn't his stuff that was stolen. A missing hammer more likely belonged to a worker, not the owner.

So does anyone know if the owner had previously reported stolen items? What's this $2,500.00 in fishing gear I keep hearing about? Who's property was that? Also, how the hell do you have "fishing gear" worth $2,500.00 dollars?
I dont know but he yells that right before the gun shots while still on the 911 call.
