Agreed. This just needs to be revisited by a sane congress. So, we need a sane Congress, and then they need their buts kicked to balancing liability (accountability) with availability. Also, the requirement for vaccination must be met with a high high standard of safety vs proposed benefit.
Getting these various vaccines off of the required list would help. Making them fight to get on the Required list with safety and quality data.. and a program to fund remediation for injuries. IF they are seeing an uptick of injuries then the increased cost will cause the offending vaccine be withdrawn.
Tnanks.. yes.. Anti-vaxxers have been taking it on the chin.. and this is not an all or nothing proposition. The law is just way out of balance. Companies must be able to be held accountable. The current rules are untenable but this won’t change unless and until this becomes a thing and we have a sane Congress to act on this.
Totally agree. That was the message of one of the scientists who spoke at a recent hearing I went to in Conn. The major drug companies and the politicians who depend on them have no interest in this concept, because it's less convenient for them than selling regulators on a couple of major vaccines each year and having the politicians they support require them.
What I favor--and possibly you agree--is to allow markets for vaccines to develop as the customers (and their doctors) want them. The major problem we have now is forcing everyone to take the same set of vaccines by government fiat, rather than taking into account patient histories and family background in response to various vaccine ingredients.
