I’d really like to see hygenic processes in the preparation of food I buy.

Barring that, automate it and keep the machines clean.

I may become vegetarian again. Or at least make other choices for meat buying.

I hope everyone understands there is no fool-proof way against catching coronavirus.
I was on a bus today and a woman coughing and sneezing lowered her face mask to blow her nose in a tissue and continued cough and sneezing while doing so. She left with her face mask down at the next stop 3 minutes later. Honest to God.
From the PA website: Remember this saying: “My mask protects you, your mask protects me.”

That’s why i wear my p95 Dust mask from my shop. It protects me.

I was at the store today. Our state forces mask. It was irritating and tickling my nose making it run.

So when do they start running tv ads telling us to wash the masks and clean off the saliva and snot from them.

‘Could robots be designed to do that job?’

That is where it will all end up eventually.

And while it’s wet or damp, microwave it? The metal part won’t hurt anything.

Exactly. I’ll pay more but I shop at the local butcher. Once you’ve had bacon from there, you’ll throw rocks at the packaged stuff..

Fortunately, there are no confirmed cases in that county and only a handful in the surrounding counties.

Working in meat plants has to be one of worse jobs. The smell, the blood, guts, shit, is awful. Had a friend who worked in summer for college expenses at a pork plant. I don’t know how she did it. The stories she told me, shared some pics, ugggh I could throw up thinking about it now.

We raised chickens for a few years and took them to a small chicken processing place. The smell was horrible. But we had our own meat, no hormones, chickens had a clean environment being raised.

I give anyone kudos who can stomach working in a meat plant.

The Corona is one big scam of crisis being used as a tool. Yes,we as a society can promote and adhere to common sense actions but Corona is king of it all as is most virus.

About robots ...

Robot cow milkers are in use now. And milking a cow is complicated. The robots do it well. They don’t call off, or show up hung over, or walk off the job, or show up high and break stuff ... but they cost THOUSANDS of dollars per unit. They can work 24-7 and don’t need days off or vacations or Social Security.

That said, I’d be surprised if work is not underway to build robots for the packing industry. Think of the savings.

packing plants and slaughter houses are the ultimate sweatshops in the U.S., even though the workers work in freezing and we conditions ... these are brutal jobs and the plant owners and supervisors are more akin to chinese overlords and slave-drivers than anything else ... i’ve toured such plants and have seen the working conditions personally ...

Sarcasm right? The metal part will ruin the mask, and if you’re not paying attention, the resulting fire will ruin your microwave.

Cloth (homemade) masks can simply be laundered, with a bit of bleach.

Other masks can be hung out in the sunlight for a day or so.

UV-C sterilization boxes that are used to sterilize phones or laptops can also be used.

If the (normally) disposable ones get wet from a sneeze, they should be disposed of.

Mask wearing is a lot easier to tolerate than severe lockdowns. Issuing these meat plant workers powered respirators could be a good investment — better than having our food chains break.

I’m a retired nurse. Not ONCE, did I ever enter an isolation room wearing a mask, that my nose didn’t start itching and running, and I’d start coughing. Same thing today, when I wear a mask while shopping, etc. I know it’s psychological, but it is what it is. The other day, I couldn’t stand it, I had to reach into my pocket and get a Kleenex, and blow my nose. Couldn’t help it.
