There ARE SERIOUS consequences when YOUR state Governor is a Democrat!

So, my FReeper FRiends, how much more evidence do we need to prove beyond the shadow of ANY doubt that Democrats are bad, stupid, detestable and annoying persons?

In addition, they are LIEberal, noxious and venomous!

The clear lesson: DON’T VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT!

ONE of the 4th generation tranche, IIRC. They are currently birthing Gen 6. They all have large-large-ish families and often multiple families.

I was once friends with one of JB’s cousins. That cohort ended up with $1-2B each after Robert liquidated the major holdings and distributed them to his children and their 1st cousins. Again (aging memory): it was in the neighborhood of $20B (publicly disclosed) back 30 years ago, in total. Remember, they all have personal property valued in the highest 7-10 figures that they could sell at any time that is not part of listed public holdings.

I’m fairly sure they don’t own Hyatt anymore. There is a family law office that administers everything, but I seem to remember that once the distribution took place, they are all now responsible for managing their own holdings in the form of trusts and foundations. I’ll bet that means they pay the family firm administrative costs.

I don’t believe any of Gen 4 did much to add to the family fortune, but their own holdings have grown along with the economy. My former friend once (1987) gave me a tip that Penny was investing big in retirement homes/assisted living. Wonder how that investment is doing today?

Just like they did in NY. Oh wait.....

Any "shutdown" that allows the subways to continue to run isn't doing it right.

And therefore worthless. Like all the rest of the shutdown has been.

“Trump brilliantly ignored calls to nationalize the lockdown and let these Rat Governors and Mayors hang themselves.”

that’s been my take as well ...

It’s not like being asked to fight a war or anything......

Well it isn't. We honor our veterans for a reason; they go above and beyond in order to keep our country safe. Sitting in a climate-controlled home with food in the fridge, Internet access, and a TV in the living room, albeit with the loss of income, does not in any way compare with the sacrifices our brave men and women in uniform make every day.

There is a human cost to everything we do. Right now we have to make a tough decision and flip the switch so the runaway train kills the fewest people possible. Suppose all the states decided to open up tomorrow. Would everyone just go back to their normal lives like nothing happened? Some would and some wouldn't. Let's say 60% of the country returns to their usual lives. So business owners would have all the usual expenses of keeping their businesses open (payroll, utilities, inventory, etc.) while taking in a fraction of the income. How many businesses can survive with 60% of their usual customer base? So many businesses will fail anyway regardless of what the government does. At the same time the virus will spread more rapidly among the 60% who will then stay home and stop working or shopping. We will have the worst of both worlds, both dead bodies and dead businesses. So I choose the option that involves fewer Americans dying because there is no magic wand that will make America spend at pre-CV levels again. There is also the problem of the mostly Republican governors losing credibility among the people if they lift the shutdowns prematurely and their state enters the above scenario. We don't have to wait until there is a vaccine but we need to test more people, trace their contacts, and figure out the true mortality rate.

I am so very sorry! Why can’t just the risk populate stay home and the rest go back to work? I just don’t get it.

"...the voters of Illinois are not too bright!!!"

Probably out dumbed only by the loudmouths from Texas who stand around talking about how great their state is as they watch it circle the drain of liberalism.

Last I saw Texas is just two election cycles from turning blue.

Pure genius.

“There are many counties in southern, central and western Illinois that do not have a single death. These citizens desperately want to get back to work.”
