He has been living in his castle with his servants for way too long. Human nature is hard to stop.

Anyone remember when HBO's Bill Maher and other 'elites' wanted a recession to get rid of Trump? They never thought their grand lifestyles would be affected... so the joke's on them. No more wonderful wildly expensive restaurants, no over-the-top vacations, no 'lord it over the little people' crap. Bill Gates and Bill Maher get to live like the rest of us. The ONLY upside to this horror... the silver lining... maybe it'll sensitize them to what jerks they are...

Looks like Bill Gates has been hanging around his Agenda 21 pals a bit too much.
I thought Paul Allen was the programmer behind early Microsoft? I'm not saying Gates can't program but he was more the business savvy of the group to my understanding. It also helped that he had a steady income from a trust fund.
I will give him credit though, he saw the value in the "kit" microcomputers at the early stages. While he screwed over the poor guy in Seattle, Digital Research really dropped the ball in the negotiations with IBM. That opened the door for Bill and the rest is history.
IBM made so many mistakes back then it's crazy. But this one was intentional. They worried that if they controlled both hardware and software that would put them in another antitrust suit. That plus an institutional mentality that Big Computers were where its at.
Skip to the late 1990s IBM could have bought Apple for a song. Apple was the only one making computers with IBMs POWERPC chip. But no they would go along and sellout their ThinkPad line of laptops to the Chinese instead. Now they languish with no direction. Google, Microsoft and Amazon does IBMs core business better than IBM does.
Now for the real Poser, How does DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) invent the search engine then go on to be gobbled up by Dell, while Google is now bigger than both combined? Its a crazy world in the tech industry.
